The Quality Auditor's main responsibility is to conduct scheduled inspections of incoming receiving raw materials, production parts, and finished good inventory to ensure it meets Masonite specifications.
Responsibilities:
Read and follow SOP's, conduct required auditing and inspection to QC standards.
Perform various levels of inspection: incoming receiving, in-process manufacturing and finished goods process audit.
Input data pertinent to quality database systems for capturing, analyzing, and providing timely and accurate reporting and corrective actions.
Determine from blueprint and specifications the dimensions, finishes, processes and methods of inspection, precision measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges), gauges, tools and set-up required for checking surfaces and variations.
Visually examine material or product for surface defects such as creasing, cracks, pits, discoloration, sunken face, pillowing, foam dents, foam-voids, delaminating, waviness, flatness, oil canning, or required cosmetic touch-ups.
Partner with production supervisors and team-leads to train production operators on proper manufacturing of products to required quality standard.
Prepares CAR notices and disposition noting deviations from specifications on dimensions, finishes, surfaces, processes or quality.
Evaluate material for non-conformances and create reports accordingly.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Participation in weekly quality inspection and auditing sessions.
Participate in Yellow Lean projects effectively using tool-set and methodology.
Ability to effectively facilitate Kaizen events on manufacturing floor with cross-functional work teams.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree with (2+) years of experience.
Structured systematic work skills and habits required.
Ability to establish and maintain a neat organized work environment.
Ability to use computer equipment and software applications (MS-Office Products).
Good communications skills both written and verbal.
Ability to use calibrated measuring equipment including calipers, weight scales, height gauges, micrometers, tape measurers, etc.
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail required.
Good technical/mechanical aptitude
Good follow-up skills
Ability to obtain ASQ - Certified Quality Auditor certification within (1) year of new role.
Ability to obtain Yellow Lean and Kaizen certifications within (1) year of starting new role.
Ability to solve manufacturing issues using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, squares, and square roots.
Knowledge of safety and security measures when utilizing equipment and materials.
Ability to provide extended flexible work hours, as work-load and projects requires.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor level up to the inspection station.
Be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving situations.
